Beirut explosions caused damage in Cyprus Embassy

One diplomat was wounded

The Embassy of Cyprus and the Ambassador`s residence in Beirut sustained damage from the two explosions which shook the capital of Lebanon on Tuesday and one diplomat was wounded, but not seriously.

Replying to CNA questions, Serge Bou Samra, who was the duty officer at the Embassy, said that the explosions caused damage at the Embassy building and the Ambassador`s residence, adding however that the extent of the damage has not yet been assessed. 

Asked whether there have been any wounded, he said that the Embassy`s Charge d` Affaires has been wounded, but not seriously and that she has been transported to hospital.
