The results of tests carried out on all samples from a suspected Coronavirus case in Cyprus have come back negative, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Health following a briefing from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.

The Ministry of Health notes that despite the negative result, the patient will remain in hospital for a period of 14 days for a follow-up, as provided by the protocol and guidelines of the World Health Organization and the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC), it added.

The press release notes that the other three crew members who were classified as low risk according to the protocol were examined by health professionals and released after being given instructions for precautionary and self-monitoring measures for a 14-day period.

Ministry of Health assures that it will issue official announcements for any development that might occur.
