Cyprus authorities confirmed on Saturday 248 COVID-19 cases through PCR tests, while another 104 cases were found positive through antigen rapid tests. From the 248 cases, 69 were found positive through rapid tests in the past days and were confirmed with PCR tests.
 
The total number of positive cases in Cyprus since the start of the pandemic rose to 10,231.
 
A Ministry of Health announcement says that a total of 14,455 tests were conducted on Saturday, 6,590 of which were PCR tests, confirming 179 cases. 65 of them were found from 546 samples as part of contact tracing, 59 cases were confirmed from 1,950 samples of people who tested on a private initiative, 18 cases were found from 312 samples tested at Microbiology Labs, 2 cases were confirmed from 207 samples from GP referrals.
 
Moreover, 4 cases were found among employees who tested in Limassol District, 11 from employees in Nicosia District, 11 from employees in Paphos District. Three cases were found among 126 samples taken from pupils, teachers and school staff, 5 cases were detected from 95 samples from immigrant reception centers and one case was confirmed among passengers arriving in Cyprus.
 
Moreover, a total of 7,865 antigen rapid tests confirmed 104 cases, of which 22 in Limassol, 4 in Larnaca, 18 in Famagusta, 10 in Paphos, 42 in Nicosia and 8 from a program conducted between November 18-27 to test health officials.
 
A total of 114 patients are hospitalized in Cyprus, 61 of which at Famagusta General Hospital (4 at the Advanced Care Unit), 28 at Nicosia General Hospital (16 at the ICU, 4 of them not connected to a ventilator), 18 at Limassol General Hospital and 7 at Makario Children’s Hospital.
