Melco Cyprus brings joy to the local community

Melco Cyprus volunteers have been engaging in activities to help local children and groups feel the Christmas spirit

Melco Cyprus, operator of City of Dreams Mediterranean, the first European integrated resort, and Cyprus Casinos (C2), has provided local children with presents and raised funds for the country’s vulnerable groups through a series of festive activities, remaining true to its commitment to give back to the local community.

As Christmas draws near, Melco Cyprus volunteers have been engaging in activities to help local children and groups feel the Christmas spirit. The Company also organised festive events for colleagues and their families.



For the third consecutive year, Melco Cyprus is organising the “No Child Without a Present This Year” Christmas charity campaign in collaboration with Efimerida Lemesos, in which employees donate toys, clothing, electronics, and supermarket vouchers to ensure less privileged children would also receive Christmas presents.

Melco Cyprus colleagues also participated in Limassol’s edition of “Santa Run”, a popular Christmas event held around the globe that attracts thousands of people to walk or run while dressed in Santa costumes. Organised by the city’s tourism company, the 5km race was held on 11 December to signal the start of the festive season and raise funds for Theotokos Foundation, a charity that helps children and adults with special needs.



On 4 December, the company organised a family event, where employees and their children participated in various festive activities. On 10 December, Melco kids sang Jingle Bells at Ypsonas Christmas Wonderland, an event organised by the local municipality.

Property General Manager of City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos, Mr. Grant Johnson, said, “Caring for the communities we serve is a key component of Melco’s corporate social responsibility. Children and other vulnerable groups of these communities will always be our number one priority. To us, the ‘No Child Without a Present This Year’ initiative is not just about gift-giving. It is about creating beautiful memories for our children and showing them there is hope out there.”



The “No Child Without a Present this Year” Christmas charity campaign and further activities are part of Melco’s multi-faceted Corporate Social Responsibility programme, through which Melco delivers on its commitment of being a leading corporate citizen, giving back to the communities it serves.
